R&R is designed for veterans to rejuvenate, connect with other veterans and community professionals, try new and healthy activities, and learn coping skills that can be used in everyday life.
Veterans will participate in therapeutic riding and other holistic programming such as yoga, Crossfit, art therapy, team building and/or psycho education. Professional community providers will be onsite to conduct activities in his or her area of expertise. Participants will also complete a project to beautify the Ride for Joy campus.
Veterans may choose to fish in the private pond (with a valid Idaho fishing license), enjoy the quiet country setting, hike, read, or play board games in the evenings. Participants will have the option to stay in a GP Medium tent or individual tents unless other accommodations are required.
Meals and snacks will be provided. R&R is free to veterans thanks to generous supporters. Donors for 2017 were the J.A. Wedum Foundation, Caldwell Night Rodeo, and the Idaho Division of Veterans Services.
R&R 2018 will be Tuesday through Thursday, May 22-24.
To sign up for R&R, please fill out the R&R Application and mail it to P.O. Box 140295 Boise, ID 83714.
