Who We AreThe Ride for Joy Therapeutic Riding Program is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization formed in 2007 after operating as an affiliate/pilot of the Hailey-based Sagebrush Equine Training Program for the Handicapped (SETCH) from 1999-2006. Ride for Joy is only possible with the help of the many generous donors who fund our operations, as the lesson fees cover only a very small fraction of our actual costs of providing services. Mission & VisionOur mission is to bring the joy of horses to Treasure Valley children with special needs. Our vision is to become the Treasure Valley's premier center of excellence for Equine Assisted Activities and to embrace and celebrate our students, families, staff, volunteers, donors and the community as our partners in achieving this vision. |
What's NewIdaho Cutting Horse Association Bridleless Calcutta to Benefit Ride for Joy – Friday, September 3 Put on your Ride for Joy red and come out Friday evening, September 3rd, to support Ride for Joy night! We are hoping for a huge crowd of Ride for Joy friends, family and supporters to watch our very own Cowboy and Equine Manager, Kenna Moody, perform to music during dinner at 6:00 pm to showcase his talent as a reining and working cow horse as well as his life now as a therapy horse. Kenna and Cowboy’s performance will be followed by a Bridleless Calcutta at 7 pm, in which the riders will be auctioned off to raise funds to help Ride for Joy keep bringing the joy of horses to the wonderful kids we serve. Admission to all ICHA events is free, but if you would like to purchase tickets for a hand carved roast brisket dinner on Friday evening click here. Other food options such as burgers and hot dogs will also be available for purchase that evening at the food court. |
